Bruges inspired table No.1

It all began with a massive mahogany plank. I wanted to create something special and evocative of Bruges, but also something with universal appeal. I view the table as an art piece, a sculpture. The table is inlaid with a variety of wood types, such as beach and exotic hardwoods like padauk, African oak, afzelia, and afrormosia, as well as common materials like melamine. The inlays are created by hand using chisels, while the design is made with a router and then carved with chisels. Finally, the inlaid areas are filled with epoxy resin.
